Day Tour Marangu trekking to Maundi crater

Ascent & descend time: Approx.6 – 7hours:
Habitat: Montane forest

Depart from Arusha approx. 3hrs drive/Moshi town about 45minutes drive, head to Marangu Gate on the eastern side of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Register at the park office, and then start hiking through rain forest to the upper edge of the forest.  Lunch will served on the way if weather allows, stretch to Mandara Camp approximate hiking is 3 – 4 hours. Reach Mandara Huts explore the camp which rich with wildlife such black and white colobus monkey, birds, massive trees, here you will meet other hikes.

After short tour at the camp   start stretch to Maundi Crater about 15 minutes away, the trail passes through a short stretch of forest. On the rim of Maundi if the weather has to be clear for the best views. On clear day you’ll have magnificent views which stretch all the way to Kenya as the rim is close to the northern border of Tanzania and Kenya. Take some photos and descend to Marangu gate transfer to the hotel for shower
